Vegpro International Inc. is a Canadian leader for the innovation of its agricultural production of baby leaf lettuce, salad and vegetables, supplying customers in North America all year long under the well-known label, Fresh Attitude. Our pre-washed and ready-to-eat packaged salads are available in all major grocery chains in Canada with a strong and rapidly growing presence in the United States.
We own and farm approximately 700 acres of land in Coldstream, BC and we have built a 70,000 sq. ft state of the art produce packaging facility.
We operate in Quebec and in BC with expertise in both growing and packaging conventional and organic produce.
To respond to growth opportunities in the West, we have openings for full-time Production Labourers to join our team in Coldstream to work in the production/packaging plant.
Shift Schedule is 4 days per week, 10 hours per day:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
8am -630pm or 9am to 730pm
Main Responsibilities
- Opening and distributing raw material from cases and plastic boxes at the wash line
- Cut, weigh, pre-wash and prepare lettuce, vegetables etc.
- Fill lettuce bins, cleaning and prep for packing
- Distribute bowls, lids, packaging boxes on the various production/packaging lines
- Place the ingredients manually in the “insert” containers
- Inspect labels on product, inspect product quality
- Pack cardboard boxes with salad kits, load boxes on to pallets, wrap pallets for shipping
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma is an asset
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing or agribusiness environment is an asset
- Ability to work standing in a refrigerated and humid environment (3°C) for long period of time
- Be able to speak and understand English, to communicate well with supervisors and co-workers
- Ability to lift loads up to 50 Ib (some workstations)
