Cultivating long-term sustainability

When it comes to ensuring the health of our environment and communities, sustainable agriculture is an essential aspect. For example, by encouraging biodiversity through crop rotation, we promote the resilience of agricultural ecosystems. By integrating various types of plants in our fields, we prevent soil depletion and promote genetic diversity, thus strengthening our crops’ ability to resist pests and diseases. Furthermore, we reduce dependence on chemical additions by selecting plant varieties that are suited to our climate, since these varieties have already developed natural defence mechanisms. We adhere to the principles of sustainable agriculture in order to support food production that respects the environment and is more resilient to future challenges.

Harvesting freshness

Grown in open fields, our lettuces benefit from sun and rain, and draw their nutrients directly from the soil. As Canada's largest producer of baby lettuces, our various teams are dedicated to growing, cleaning, and packaging the tastiest lettuces and ready-to-eat salads available. We believe that everyone we serve should have access to the benefits that only nature can offer us.

Delicate and rigorous washing

Our lettuces are carefully washed according to strict quality standards; this makes them immediately ready for consumption without the need for additional rinsing, unless otherwise indicated on the packaging. Thanks to our field-based packaging centres, our working methods reduce the time between harvesting and transportation to a minimum. Our baby lettuces are fragile, therefore we treat them with care!

Recyclable packaging

We offer our baby lettuces and mixed salads in containers that are 100% recyclable PET (polyethylene terephthalate). After conducting several research projects in this field, we found the ideal container to preserve the quality of our products until they reach your table, while also contributing to the recycling cycle.

Our commitment to quality

We regularly review all our practices, as much in our fields as elsewhere: equipment development, varietal research, soil conservation and much more, all while working on the optimization of our washing lines, in order to ensure that our products are of the best possible quality. Our methods aim to protect the environment and preserve our resources. For us, it is essential to take into account the impact of each process that leads to the lettuce you enjoy. The consideration that we have for our workers, fellow citizens, and consumers also extends to the nature that surrounds us.

The journey to your plate

In season, from May to October, we grow our fresh salads and vegetables on our Canadian farms. Over the winter, from December to March, we grow them in Florida. Transition periods, during which we source from long-standing partners on the West Coast of Canada and the United States, represent only a few weeks in autumn and spring.
